Team Leaders

Meet the Team Leaders!

Paxton, a student at Oklahoma State University, has always been involved in multiple organizationas and volunteer projects. Paxton came up with the idea for Rock the Sock several years ago. However, it was not until after a weekend with her family and their encouragement that she decided to launch the Rock the Sock campaign. It started with a Facebook page, a few phone calls, and several emails. The organization started to move forward rapidly, and in a little over a month, Paxton’s goal of giving socks to those in need became reality with Rock the Sock’s first donation delivery to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of OKC.

When asked why she chose to donate socks, Paxton replied,

“There are a lot of really great organizations out there, but I have never come across one that collects and donates socks. There are coat drives, canned food drives, toy drives….etc, but no “sock drives.” I wanted to change this. Most of the body’s heat is lost through its appendages, so socks are definitely a need. In addition, one of the worst feelings is having to wear dirty socks or a sock with a hole in it. The expressions of gratitude and happiness that our donation recipients express make every minute of work put towards this great cause more than worth it.”

Always looking for new ideas on how to help Rock the Sock expand and grow in order to benefit more people, Paxton is always open to new ideas and suggestions. She would like to encourage everyone to support Rock the Sock in any way possible.

Paxton came to Brittany with the most creative idea of starting a non-profit to help warm toes. Brittany was more than thrilled to have to opportunity to be a part of such an incredible organization.

When asked what her favorite aspect of being a part of Rock the Sock she replied,

“I loved the idea from the beginning! I have been a part of so many different community service projects but never one like this. Being a part of Rock the Sock has been an amazing experience, especially when we see the faces of those we donate to light up like its Christmas morning. Also, I love working with my best friend!”
